At the experiential workshop held on Saturday 16 January 2021, titled "Me and Coronavirus in the Village of Emotions", the organisers and members of WellnessLab invited children aged 7–12 to share their knowledge and experience of Covid-19. Information about the nature and spread of the virus was also presented to resolve any doubts and correct possible misunderstandings.
The main activity was a guided "tour" of the village of emotions, where all inhabitants had experienced the pandemic. The primary goal was to encourage children to recognise and express their feelings about the virus and the lockdown — both negative ones (fear, anxiety, boredom, anger) and positive ones (joy, excitement). Coping strategies were suggested for the negative emotions, while ideas were shared on how to amplify the positive ones. The session ended with a brief discussion on the positives we have taken from the pandemic experience and the goals we set for the new year.
