Coronavirus: We Are Not Afraid — We Are Preparing!

An experiential workshop held on 17 January, aimed at giving adolescents the opportunity to describe how they are experiencing the pandemic.

In an initial stage, all the children were invited to share their favourite activity during lockdown and what they had missed the most.

This was followed by an engaging, interactive activity where children were asked to decide whether certain statements about the virus were true or "myths" — helping to resolve any doubts and correct misunderstandings about the nature of the virus.

The main part of the session was an interactive activity on the sense of control over various situations during the pandemic. Through this, participants identified which of the changes in their daily lives were within their control and which were not — with the children themselves suggesting various ways to manage those that were.

The final part of the session included an extended discussion on what we have gained from this pandemic and what new goals we have for the coming year.
