The seminar "Coach & Athlete: Managing Challenges" by WellnessLab was delivered with the aim of informing and educating coaches on issues related to the psychological wellbeing and behavior of young athletes. Core concepts surrounding the phenomenon of bullying were covered, including an analysis of its various forms, warning signs, and risk factors for both victims and perpetrators.
The discussion then focused on the issue of disobedience, examining its underlying causes and offering practical management tools based on principles of positive and negative reinforcement. Special attention was given to the ways in which a coach can respond effectively to difficult family circumstances that impact an athlete's behavior and performance.
Finally, the importance of communication with parents and guardians was explored, with an emphasis on maintaining open and constructive channels of dialogue. Through two case studies, participants were invited to apply the concepts presented in practice, developing critical thinking and action strategies for real-life scenarios they may encounter in their own coaching environment.
